The owner chef was born in Japan. After graduating from university, he began working as a ramen chef at his family’s popular local ramen restaurant.
After spending 14 years refining his skills as a ramen chef, he moved to New Zealand in 2011 and continued training under the former owner of Tanpopo. Originally opened in 2005, Tanpopo has been loved by many customers for many years. In 2021, he proudly took over the restaurant from the previous owner.
With nearly 30 years of experience as a ramen chef, he is committed to carrying on the delicious flavours and traditions that the former owner built over the years.

Our most popular bowl is the Shoyu Tonkotsu Ramen. We also serve the very popular Tanpopo Ramen, made with plenty of rich and creamy sesame paste, topped with our roasted garlic oil. In addition, we offer vegetarian ramen, shoyu ramen, and shio ramen.
